How This Started

One Bootcamp Changed Everything

I attended a Band of Brothers bootcamp a few years ago, a men's retreat rooted in John Eldredge's Wild at Heart. What happened there: the honesty, the brotherhood, the encounter with God, I had never experienced anything like it.

When I got home, I didn't want to lose that. I wanted men in my life who understood the journey. I wanted to keep going deeper. So I built this to start inviting others.

Band of Brothers Online exists so that men anywhere in the world can walk this road together: through the Field Manual, through Saturday gatherings, through prayer and honest conversation.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

Yamil Cruz — Just a Brother

To be clear: I have no affiliation with Band of Brothers or Ransomed Heart Ministries. I'm just a man who attended a Band of Brothers bootcamp and couldn't keep it to himself. That bootcamp — the real thing, in person — changed my life, and my goal is to get as many men there as possible. We're already working toward gathering men from across the nation to attend bootcamps in California and beyond. Our next one is the SoCal Fall 2026 Bootcampget the details here and register here. This site is simply an online space to connect, stay in the Word together, and keep the fire burning between those moments. Questions or just want to connect? Email me or call/text 760-484-0603.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Is Band of Brothers Online free to join?

Yes — completely free. Creating an account gives you access to the full 12-chapter Field Manual curriculum, the Brotherhood prayer board, and an invitation to our Saturday gatherings on Zoom. There is no cost, no subscription, and no catch.

What is the Wild at Heart Field Manual?

The Field Manual is John Eldredge's companion workbook to Wild at Heart — a book about recovering the heart of a man. The Field Manual goes deeper through 12 chapters of guided questions, exercises, and reflection on topics like the masculine wound, spiritual warfare, identity, healing, and what it means to walk with God as a son. Our curriculum is built chapter by chapter around this material.

When are the Saturday gatherings, and how do I join one?

We gather every Saturday at 8 PM Pacific time on Zoom. Once you create a free account and join the brotherhood, you'll receive the link. The gathering is an open conversation — brothers share what God is doing, what they're wrestling with, and what the week's curriculum stirred in them. No performance. No agenda. Just men being honest with each other.

Do I need to have read Wild at Heart before joining?

No. The Field Manual study stands on its own. Men come in at all stages — some have read Wild at Heart multiple times, some are hearing about it for the first time. What matters is showing up willing to go deep. The curriculum walks you through everything you need chapter by chapter.

What is a Band of Brothers bootcamp?

A Band of Brothers bootcamp is an in-person men's retreat built around the Wild at Heart message — typically 3 to 4 days in a remote setting where men encounter God, face their wounds, and forge genuine brotherhood. Our online community exists to keep that fire alive between bootcamps. We are currently organizing the SoCal Fall 2026 Bootcamp at Forest Home in California (Oct 1–4, 2026) for men from across the nation.

Is Band of Brothers Online affiliated with John Eldredge or Ransomed Heart Ministries?

No. We are an independent brotherhood started by a man who attended a Band of Brothers bootcamp and wanted to keep the community alive online. We love John Eldredge's work and use the Field Manual as our curriculum, but we have no official affiliation with Ransomed Heart Ministries or John Eldredge's team. Wild at Heart and the Field Manual are entirely his work.

What Brothers Are Saying

Chapter 3 didn’t let me sleep. I read it on a Thursday night and sat with it all weekend. I’d never had a curriculum go that deep — not in a men’s group, not in church, nowhere.

M
Marcus R. Georgia

I’ve been in men’s groups before — Bible studies, accountability partners, all of it. The Saturday gatherings hit different. There’s something about men on a call who have nothing to prove to each other.

D
Daniel F. Texas

I joined not really knowing what to expect. A few months later, these are the men I call when things get real. Yamil built something genuine here.

A note of transparency

Band of Brothers Online is an independent brotherhood started by a man who attended a Band of Brothers bootcamp, a men's retreat based on John Eldredge's Wild at Heart, and wanted to keep the fire alive. We are not affiliated with Ransomed Heart Ministries or John Eldredge's team in any official capacity. Wild at Heart and the Field Manual are the work of John Eldredge. We simply love the material and want to study it together as brothers.
